Italy - Sicily

We have visited Italy many times over the years. Here's a collection from our 2014 trip to Sicily (see map) - a beautiful island with such a rich history: Greek, Roman, Arab/Norman, Baroque. We flew to Catania*, collected the hire car and visited Archimedes' home town of Syracuse*, baroque Nota*, the imperial Villa Romana del Casale* at Piazza Armerina, the Greek temples* at Agrigento and the superb Arab/Norman architecture* at Palermo, Monreale and Cefalu. Then on to Taormina and Mount Etna* before returning to Catania. A superb ten-day trip! (* = UNESCO World Heritage Site)
