Iran - History and Architecture

Persia! We visited Iran in 2017, first touring Tehran (including Golestan Palace*), before flying to Shiraz (where we visited Persepolis* and Pasargadae*) and returning by road via Yazd*, Garmeh (desert village homestay), Nain, Isfahan*, Abyaneh and Kashan (see map). During the trip we visited several beautiful and historic Persian Gardens*. It was a truly wonderful trip. We know there are problems, but it is not at all how it is portrayed in the western media. Iran has an incredibly rich history and exquisite architecture (this album), and some of the friendliest people you could meet anywhere (separate album). (* = UNESCO World Heritage Site)
