Cambodia - Siem Reap and Phnom Penh
The Land of the Khmer! We visited Cambodia in 2013, following our trip to neighbouring Vietnam (see map). We flew directly to Siem Reap, visiting many of the stunning Khmer temples* - the iconic Angkor Wat (C12th CE), but also Ta Prohm, Angkor Thom, Phimeanakas and Baphuon. We also travelled to nearby Banteay Srei, to see the beautiful temple there. We then flew to the capital, Phnom Penh, where we visited the Royal Palace and National Museum as well as Wat Phnom and a local market. Please excuse the quality of some of the photos which were all taken with a rather basic bridge camera! Only a short trip, to a country you could spend many weeks exploring.
